None. When you download, install, and use Calming:
No Account Required: You do not need to register, log in, or provide an email address, name, or password.
No Telemetry or Tracking: The app contains zero analytics SDKs (e.g., Firebase, Google Analytics), advertising networks, or crash reporters that upload user data.
No Network Profiling: We do not track what ambient sounds you listen to, what albums you play, or how long your sleep timer is active.
2. Device Permissions and How They Are Used
Calming requests only the minimum permissions necessary to function as an ambient sound mixer and local music player:
Device Audio & Music Library Access (iOS, macOS, Android): Why it is needed: Calming allows you to select and play albums, tracks, and playlists from your local music library while relaxing to soothing background soundscapes.
Privacy guarantee: Audio files and metadata are indexed and played strictly on your local device. No audio files or library details are ever uploaded, transmitted, or monitored.
Notifications (Android 13+): Why it is needed: Android 13 and later require the notification permission to display the system media playback controls in the status bar and on the lock screen.
Privacy guarantee: These notifications are strictly local playback controllers. Calming does not send push notifications, marketing messages, or remote alerts.
Local Preferences Storage: Why it is needed: Calming stores your chosen theme (light/dark/system), noise volume slider levels, selected ambient soundscape, sleep timer preferences, and selected language.
Privacy guarantee: Preferences are stored securely inside the app's sandboxed local storage on your device and are never sent across the internet.
