1. Overview & Commitment

Zenith AR ("the Application"), developed by Andy Tom G (identifier prefix uk.co.andytomg.zenithar), respects your privacy. Zenith AR is designed to operate as a self-contained, ad-free astronomy tool that processes all calculations locally on your device.

                Key Guarantee: Zenith AR does not collect, track, transmit, or monetize any of your personal data, camera video feeds, or location telemetry.
            

2. Permissions Used & Device Access

To deliver real-time augmented reality stargazing and accurate astronomical tracking, Zenith AR requests access to specific device features:

Location Access (NSLocationWhenInUseUsageDescription / GPS): Used solely to calculate the exact topocentric horizontal coordinates (azimuth and altitude) of the Sun, Moon, planets, stars, and satellites relative to your geographic location. Your coordinates never leave your device.
Photo Library Access (NSPhotoLibraryAddUsageDescription): Required only when you explicitly tap the "SAVE TO GALLERY" button in the Astrophotography Snapshot feature to write captured snapshot images to your device's local photo library.
Notifications Permission (POST_NOTIFICATIONS / iOS Local Notifications): Required only if you explicitly enable alerts for International Space Station (ISS) passes or astronomical events. Notifications are generated 100% locally on your device with no remote servers or tracking involved.
Motion Sensors & Compass: Used locally to align the augmented reality view with your device's physical orientation (heading, pitch, and roll).

3. Data Storage & Local Persistence

Zenith AR stores non-personal preferences locally on your device using local storage APIs (e.g. SharedPreferences):

Your selected application language preference (e.g. English, French, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, etc.).
Your selected camera FOV zoom level preference.
Your active astronomical event pass alert notification IDs.

This preference data remains exclusively on your device and is never synchronized to external servers.

4. Third-Party Analytics & Advertising

Zenith AR contains zero third-party tracking SDKs, zero advertising frameworks, and zero analytics telemetry services. We do not use cookies, user profiling, or ad tracking.

5. Text-To-Speech & Audio Guides

The Text-To-Speech (TTS) audio narration feature utilizes your device's built-in operating system speech synthesis engine (Apple Speech / Android TextToSpeech). No voice recordings or text queries are transmitted to external cloud servers by Zenith AR.

6. Children’s Privacy

Zenith AR complies with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) and GDPR guidelines. Since the application does not collect any personal information, it is safe for users of all ages, including children.
